What Makes Us Want To Be Gamers?

The hand-drawn art style employed by Deli Interactive's We Need To Go Deeper is incredibly reminiscent of the one used in Don't Starve Together , making this a great option for those who liked the look and feel of Klei Entertainment's smash hit. That's not the only thing that's similar though, with many of the survival elements found throughout the title feeling incredibly familiar as w

If Minecraft Had Its Own Pokemon Region - The Pseudo-Legendary PokemonDespite looking like a simple title, Project Zomboid 's fun gameplay and tough challenges made it a huge hit among survival fans. Every death feels like a lesson learned as players try to develop a wealth of skills to tackle the zombie apocaly

The are two reasons getting this right is important, and both reasons are the same but viewed from different perspectives- Minecraft is still the biggest game in the world. The official VR mode is exclusive to the Rift, so you can bet that Microsoft/Mojang and Oculus worked together to make sure the experience is as inviting as possible. Getting this right is a major deal for both companies. This ties in to the other perspective, which is consumer-side. For a lot of people minecraft Aesthetic changes will be a premier game for VR, and how accessible it is will become the baseline expectation of the experience. Make it nice and maybe it becomes the VR gateway drug, and at the moment the experience is acceptable. The default starting view may be the same Minecraft as always on an in-game screen, and Classic Control has high nausea potential, but the jerky VR Control is the kind of thing you learn to tolerate simply because it's effective.

Unlike other games on this list which are notable for thinking outside the box in terms of multiplayer experiences, upon initial glance there's not much new about Castle Crashers, which appears to be another in the line of multiplayer 2D beat em ups that used to rule the arcade. Meanwhile, actually playing the game the first time reveals...pretty much the same conclusion.

Someone needs to have a nice sitdown with the gaming industry about VR and what it can and can't do. The ability to transport the viewer inside a scene is incredible, and if that scene happens to be in the cockpit of some kind of ship, then it opens up a whole range of movement options that would otherwise be a bad idea. Putting the player behind the eyes of a protagonist who walks around freely in the standard FPS viewpoint, on the other hand, is something that has only sounded awesome. It's hasn't been. Really, seriously, it's kind of sucked, and while wanting it to be different won't change that, clever viewing systems just might. So now Minecraft has official VR support, and it's taken an interesting approach to the presentation that's a little awkward but usable.

On the surface, Victor Vran might appear to be a typical dungeon-crawler action RPG but looks can be slightly deceiving. Unlike many of the projects developed for the genre, Haemimont decided to not focus too heavily on loot and grinding, instead prioritizing real-time combat and weapon classes. As such, Victor Vran plays out like a hack and slash game that just happens to be presented from an isometric an

The trend of building homes that don't look like homes is one of the best ones in Minecraft . It lets players innovate and think outside of the box. A home is wherever the Minecraft bed is, and that could even be a massive battleship docked in the middle of an ocean bi

Stickmanhasfeet's battleship is impressive as it is, but it's even more awesome when players realize that they actually completed this build in survival mode. The sheer dedication needed for something like this is impressive, but hard work tends to pay

For any builders wanting to challenge themselves or seasoned experts looking for new ideas to add to their build maps or survival worlds, huge projects tend to be the best way to spend time. They're rewarding to make, but difficult to execute. Here's a bit of inspiration for experienced builders wanting to create massive builds in Minecra

If competitive gaming ever really make it as a widely accepted form of entertainment, it will be in large part thanks to the contributions of this strange RPG, action, RTS hybrid known as the MOBA. It's origins date back to the previous generation, but its influence and prime really began in earnest during this one, as this charming genre mutt quickly found its way into the hearts and hard drives of some of the best gamers out there. Impossibly deep and begging for hours and hours of practice to become even marginally competent on a professional scale at, the MOBA is perhaps the most significant thing to happen to competitive gaming since the FPS.

Of those contributions, none were greater than Rock Band. In fact, you could argue that a big part of the reason the entire genre seemed to disappear so quickly is because there was no way you were going to top Rock Band as far as advancing the genre is concerned. It didn't matter who you were or your thoughts towards video gaming, the feeling of getting four friends together and rocking across the globe with the help of a massive list of classic hits had an appeal that could seize infinite nights and weekends away. Many games work endlessly to pursue that level of zen that accompanies the perfect multiplayer gaming experience, but Rock Band manages to mass produce that euphoria to the point where you almost become burned out on it like a raging weekend drug bender.
