If you haven’t already boarded the hype train for Minecraft: Story Mode , the newest episode from Telltale Games might not convince you. The review that was done for the first episode ended with the hope that the following episode would be just as wonderful and expansive. Unfortunately, it didn't meet the standard appointed to it for a variety of reasons. This new episode taps into the lore, one that you would normally have had to guess playing the original game, delving into the world that Mojang had created for us. Depending on which member of the Order of the Stone you decided to pursue in the previous episode, you either begin the episode with Olivia (if you’re pursuing Ellegaard the Redstone Engineer) or Axel (if you’re pursuing Magnus the Griefer). While which character you begin with doesn’t necessarily matter at the beginning, the stories begin to change as you near the middle of the episode, causing you to have to play it twice in order to get a full understanding.

The introduction of the demo heavily references the first Dragon Quest, from the remixed Dragon Lord theme to the explanation that this takes place after Erdrick's descendant chose the bad ending. Will there be references to other games in the series or any specific characters making an appearance, such as Alena from IV or Yangus from VIII?

Having been introduced to the world of Dragon Quest when Nintendo Power included the NES copy of Dragon Warrior with a subscription, it should surprise no one that one of the upcoming games I am anticipating is Dragon Quest Builders. Taking gameplay elements from Minecraft and mixing them with story driven adventure led to the creation of a unique experience within the world of Dragon Quest. After spending some time playing the demo, I sat down with producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto to discuss the upcoming game. In addition to learning about Dragon Quest Builders, I also learned that Mr. Fujimoto and I share a common love of inflicting unspeakable horrors unto The Sims.

Minecraft Movement Update is the brainchild of Markus "Notch" Persson, an independent game developer from Sweden. Persson’s interest in the building elements of games like Infiniminer led him to expand upon the construction pitch of the game and add in expansive exploratory and dungeon-crawling features as well. In 2009, Persson released an alpha version of Minecraft , with an overwhelmingly avid public flocking to see the game. Persson continued to develop the game into beta, with users being frequently updated with new modes, mods and abilities as it developed. Before the game even went gold in March 2012, Minecraft earned over 4 million purchases. It is currently the sixth bets selling PC game of all time with over 33 million copies sold across all platforms (over 12 million of those being on PC alone).

Think about when you were a youngster and you went to the sandbox at the park. You weren’t told "build a sand castle" by your parents. You had your shovel, bucket and action figures and you did what you wanted. Fundamentally, you had no real goal; the end result was completely secondary to what you were doing to reach it. That’s the idea of a "sandbox" game: you aren’t being told what to do and you can feel free to express yourself creatively. You can break the status quo and go to places that you couldn’t otherwise. It’s not based around how much is given for you to do; it’s based around giving you tools and letting you discover what to do yourself.

Each path differs in gameplay as Magnus’s path is a lot more action-oriented with the introduction of Boom Town and 'griefers.' Of course, we all know 'griefers' from the original game as annoying players who would blow stuff up. Because of this, QTEs (Quick Time Events) are utilized that were so popular in the previous episode to dodge TNT. Ellegaard’s path isn’t as action oriented and focuses more on puzzles and the character focus from the very first episode. There is a lot more dialogue in this path and a lot of it makes up the funnier aspects of this episode. This episode capitalizes on the voice actors that Telltale has gotten together like Corey Feldman (Magnus), who played Mouth in The Goonies, and Grey Griffin (Ellegaard), famous for playing Daphne Blake in the Scooby-Doo cartoon movies that bring the characters to life.

class=Palworld should not work anywhere near as well as it does. Combining multiple genres and concepts, the game should buckle under the weight of its ambition; yet, nearly everything clicks to create an experience quite unlike anything else on the market. Both Minecraft and Palworld demonstrate that the sky is the limit for the indie market. Even though it is still too early to guarantee its longevity, there is nothing to suggest that Palworld will not remain a fixture of the gaming landscape for ye

The episode doesn't stop there, because once you've returned from either of those two paths, you head off as a group with whichever other character you picked up in the first episode (Lukas for me) to find the last member of the Order of the Stone, Soren the Architect. This path also follows a relatively fast-paced action sequence, but falls a little short with its sub-par cliffhanger. It's only episode two, but the weird events surrounding the Order of the Stone and exactly what they're going to do to stop this crazy Wither Storm seems as though it will never be resolved.
