In Nexus Blitz you are able to pick a champion for yourself and one champion to ban the enemy team from picking. Good bans include those who do a lot of AOE damage such as Katarina and Miss Fortune. On the other hand, try to pick Champions that excel in AOE because you will be in team-fights almost constantly. A good choice for beginners may be Garen , who gets stronger with each fight. Each team also requires two junglers, but the laning/jungling phase is incredibly short so Champions are still best picked in regards to their fighting ability. The laning phase is short because of the map's design and also because of the mini-game events every few minutes. Unlike the classic three-lane map in Summoner's Rift, Nexus Blitz's map is horizontal and only has a middle and bot lane with the top dedicated to jungling. The map is also pretty tight which puts players in close proximity with the enemy. When most players are getting level 5 or 6, the countdown to the first mini-game will start and the game begins to devolve into constant team-fighting chaos. After this point, junglers leave the jungle and she said begin to help push middle lane since events occur frequently and often in the middle l
Nasus has been one of the most fundamental top lane champions in the entire game, being released in 2009 and receiving several buffs and visual updates along the way. What he’s most famous for is his Q ability, which empowers a basic attack with damage equal to the number of units he’s defeated with
Although the top team is up for debate, Mad Lions are currently the best performing team in European League of Legends . Just a split ago, they were a group of five rookies, and they've since transformed into potentially the most synchronous team in the
Volibear's strengths become apparent as an aggressive, all-in-type champion. If his team is not on the same page as him, his all-in dives become problematic, and can lose his team the game. Teams need to be careful when picking Volibear, as he's not a champion that belongs in every team composit
The latest additional game mode is the highly requested Nexus Blitz, which is kind of a mix of both ARAM and Summoner's Rift. This isn't the first time this game mode has appeared, but its back with a new map and some other fun changes. Unfortunately, the game mode isn't here to stay and is only in beta mode. It seems Riot Games wants to reserve Nexus Blitz for occasional events and is currently looking for player feedback on the fledgling mode. Currently, Nexus Blitz still has the same base objective as both ARAM and Summoner's Rift, but every few minutes there is a mini-game event that both teams participate in. The team that wins the event gets a random bonus of some sort to benefit their team. So if you need a game mode to relax with after some intense ranked matches, stay tuned and this guide will show you how to play Nexus Bl
In today’s meta, Udyr languishes since he has movement speed, but no gap close. He has lots of build diversity, but Riot has enforced very specific jungle builds in the last few patches. He is also, essentially, a 1.0 version of Sett who is so OP, it makes no sense to play Udyr
Leona's first active ability, Shield of Daybreak, has Leona use her shield to perform her next auto-attack. This next attack deals bonus magic damage to an enemy and stuns them for 1 second. This ability works best when it can be followed up with more crowd control from Leona's teammates. Essentially, Leona's Shield of Daybreak is meant to be the first ability used on an enemy that gives her teammates time and opportunity to land their abilities on the target as w
The top lane has changed drastically in the past few years, much thanks to a greater diversity of archetypes that can fit into each role. While the top lane used to be mostly populated by heavy tanks, this meme successfully illustrates how some of the game’s best current top laners are vicious fighters with an alarming amount of speed and dam
But this rework exemplifies all the worst parts of Riot’s decision making when it comes to competitive play vs. fans enjoying the game. The rework makes Volibear "fit" into the current game meta but gets rid of the things that made him iconic like his flip which was a huge playmaking opportunity. Though his ult somewhat captures that spirit, the rework remains a bit contentious amongst the community. Volibear’s new kit is extremely broken if leveraged in the right way. It makes him horrible to play against because it restricts the ways players can approach the game or even what champions they can play against
After a less than 1 second delay, Leona's Ultimate ability, Solar Flare, directly beams a target location with solar energy. Enemies struck by the center of this beam are dealt magic damage based on Leona's level. Enemies directly struck by the beam are also slowed by 80% and stunned for 1.5 seconds. Enemies that are within the AOE of the Solar Flare but have not been struck directly by the center are dealt the same magic damage and slow, but not stunned. This ability is best used when the enemies are in very close proximity to each other. Since its an AOE ability and not a single-target one, you can stun multiple enemies with the epicenter as long as they manage to be right on top of each other. Using this ability after Zenith Blade and Shield of Daybreak means that an enemy can be immobilized for a whopping 3 seconds, which is more than enough time for your team to back you
