Instead of having a traditional press conference this year, Sony decided to put the focus on four core titles that are coming to the PS4 in the near future. One of those titles was Ghost of Tsushima , which was unveiled with a brief gameplay demo that doesn't take place too far into the game's story. There's no doubt that Ghost of Tsushima's trailer impressed both conference attendees and those watching at home - and Screen Rant got to hear more about the game during the E3 Expo in Los Angeles this w
Sucker Punch and Ghost of Tsushima creative director Nate Fox walked us (and a handful of other outlets) through the same mission shown during Sony's press conference, but much more was revealed during the gameplay presentation, such as the fact that the mission shown was actually a side mission that isn't part of the core story. Here's everything we learned from the d
"Games are moving around. Feudal Japan just happened to be a place that, as a developer, I know I was eager to spend a lot of time trying to recreate. And as a gamer, I really wanted to play an open-world samurai game. And that's just one excellent place in history - there are so many m
Another game by From Software, Dark Souls is the one that everyone compares challenging games to. It has made a name for itself with its unforgiving combat and surprisingly deep world. Dark Souls did come out earlier than Sekiro and has been the game everyone seems to recommend. And it's not without good rea
Things were surprising us all the time. But that's part of the joy of the discovery of making the game. Hopefully it's something that will translate into the game as a player, that you will discover a lot of the beauty of feudal Jap
Paper Beast is a new VR sandbox game coming to the PS4 in Q1 2020. Developed by Pixelreef, it seems that players will be taking care of origami creatures and causing general mayhem as they mold the environment to their lik
"This is a game inspired by history; we are not recreating history stone by stone. This is an original work. We absolutely love feudal Japan; it's a place that makes our imaginations go crazy. The idea of taking on a world of samurai, especially inside this dramatic situation with the Mongol invasion, is attractive. And we want to get the details right, to transport you back in time, but we don't want to run fast and loose with [the] history that real people went through. That's why the actual names of the samurai that were killed on the beach - we don't use those because we want to be respectf
Dead or Alive has always maintained a passionate fanbase at DualShockers, and I'm no exception. The newest iteration -- Dead or Alive 6 -- is no exception, even with the game shying away from inclusion of fan favorites . Though, with robust and tight gameplay and stages that will have you shifting up strategy, playing a couple of pick-up rounds with Producer and Director Yohei Shimbori was an instant highlight from my time at
We didn’t know what to expect going into our demo for GTFO but we left nothing but impressed. More than just another spray-and-pray shooter, GTFO forces you and your teammates to work together to survive more than any other cooperative experience we’ve played in quite some time. With a tone that fluctuates between high action and quiet horror, GTFO defined what it means to be a co-op game more than anything else we saw at
PES 2019 has a lot to prove going into this year. With the FIFA series picking up the license for the once-exclusive Champion's League , developer Konami has an uphill battle -- and is fighting tooth and nail to showcase what they can bring to the table in the world of footb
Overall, Ghost of Tsushima's gameplay was every bit as impressive in great detail as it was shown during Sony's press conference. One of the things highlighted during the hands-off gameplay presentation was the physics-based engine and the realistic blood patterns. For instance, players will be able to see the exact spot they hit an enemy with their katana. And every individual blood particle has been designed to splatter as realistically as possible. Hopefully, we get to see more of that as the game continues to be refined in developm
The story is surprisingly detailed for the era and uses cutscenes to great effect. Where the game really shines, however, is through its solid combat mechanics and its use of stealth mechanics which provide players with multiple ways of approaching each mission. There are plenty of unlockables, too, https://tsushimalegend.com making it a highly replayable game for those who can look past its dated visu
It will definitely be interesting to seen how Sucker Punch being a western developer impacts the feeling and atmosphere of Ghost of Tsushima as a whole, but so far what we've seen looks great. If you want to get more intimately familiar with the game's setting, you can also check out DualShockers' deep dive into the History of Fedual Ja
